One of the many different services that are available to the public for checks of health is an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening. If you are at risk for an abdominal aortic aneurysm at some point in your life you will be able to tell after this test. There are a few things that you should know about this test, but know that Medicare will approve for the testing.
1. To determine if you are at risk for this you will have an ultrasound screening. This is to determine if you are at risk, not to say if you will actually have the issue.
2. After you have your one time, initial “Welcome to Medicare” physical you will have the opportunity to be screened with a referral, this is the only time it can be covered. Should you be tested before your coverage period begins this physical will be able to see any potential issues.
3. You will have to pay for 20% of the total that is Medicare approved for this screening. To rule this out for your future this is not a bad amount of money to have to pay.
