The Rite Aid And WellPoint Alliance Means A Lot More Information Dissemination

The announcement on November 15 by WellPoint Inc. and Rite Aid Corporation could mean that many more people who are eligible for Medicare, especially senior citizens, could hope for lot more information during the open enrollment period.

This collaboration means that printed material will be made available at over 5100 participating pharmacy stores across the country. The materials available provide comprehensive information in clear, concise language so people can make an informed choice when it comes to healthcare for themselves or their families.

This information will address WellPoint’s Medicare Part D plans and some of the company’s representatives will be available at Rite Aid stores all over the country to help people, especially seniors understand this plan better. The open enrollment period will be on till the end of the year. Eligible people can enroll for either a standalone Medicare Part D plan or an Advantage Plan with drug coverage. They can also choose to change from one plan to another during this time.

According to the WellPoint president, this approach has been taken because the company understands how confusing and complex the process of choice in this area can be for individuals and this kind of help was much needed here. As there is a wide range of Medicare plans on offer and a large and growing number of seniors, the company hopes it can do its part in helping individuals and families choose the best plan for themselves. Coming from the largest health benefits company in the U.S., this is a welcome move indeed.

The Rite Aid team is also gung-ho about teaming up with WellPoint in this venture and looks forward to making things easier for people especially seniors when faced with these choices.
